I was passing through Helston a couple of years ago as they were building the new Sainsbury's store. I watched the construction crew for a few moments as they poured
the foundations and thought to myself "nothing here for the bun lover" and moved on.
Times have changed and Sainsbury's has arisen from the clouds of concrete and dust like a reconstituted stone phoenix. Following the same path now I was beguiled
by the siren sound of the espresso machine hissing from the cafeteria.
I was happily casting my eye along the shelf of baked wonder when I was stopped in my tracks by a new model Belgian Bun. No time for a full review but I was able to
get a couple of pictures over a capuccino.
As you can see, it is a bun baked in a wrapper, a new step in the evolution of the Belgian Bun.
It is shiny, with a bright red heart. It was good eating . On a rainy day it did a excellent job of filling the space between the greyness of morning and the greyness of afternoon.
